Sleep Calculators Online publishes free sleep calculators, sleep guides and pillow reviews. This page explains how they are made, where the facts come from and how to report a mistake. Last updated: October 3, 2026.
Who Runs This Site
The site is run by Shakeel Muzaffar, who writes and edits the content and builds the calculators. Team members are listed on the About Us page.
How Calculators Are Built
- Every calculator uses a published method or guideline, and its page shows the formula, the assumptions and a worked example.
- Ranges and thresholds come from sources such as the National Sleep Foundation, the NHLBI, MedlinePlus, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and peer-reviewed studies. Each page lists its sources.
- The maths is checked with automated tests before a calculator is published or updated.
- Calculations run in your browser. What you enter is not sent to us.
How Guides Are Written
- Guides answer the question first, then explain it, and link to the sources behind each health fact.
- We do not invent statistics, quotes, case studies or people. Examples are labelled as examples.
- Health guides say when a symptom needs a doctor. They are general education, not medical advice or a diagnosis.
- We use software, including AI tools, to help research, draft and check content. The editor reviews each page before it is published.
Medical Review
A medical review of our health content by a physician is in progress. A page shows a medical reviewer only after that page has been reviewed, together with the review date. Until then, pages show the author only.
How Product Reviews Work
- Tested reviews: we bought and slept on the Weekender cooling gel pillow and the Snuggle-Pedic bamboo pillow. These reviews describe our own use.
- Research-based reviews: all other reviews compare published specifications, materials, sizing and owner feedback. They are labelled as research-based and do not claim hands-on testing.
- Some reviews contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions do not change verdicts.
Updates And Corrections
Pages show the date they were last updated. If you spot an error, an outdated fact or a broken calculation, email info@sleepcalculators.online or use the contact page. We check every report and correct the page when the report is right.
Medical Disclaimer
Our tools and articles are for general education. They are not medical advice and cannot diagnose a sleep disorder. See a doctor about loud snoring with pauses in breathing, falling asleep during the day, or sleep problems that last more than a few weeks.
